FIG & OLIVE brought Mougins to New York on this extraordinary evening to honor the collaboration between these two gastronomic cities. They share a friendship among their Chefs, including Daniel Boulud and David Bouley, who both trained under the legendary Roger Vergé at Moulin de Mougins. Eric Ripert, from Le Bernardin was born near Mougins, on the Côte d Azur. FIG & OLIVE s founder, Laurent Halasz, who grew up in Mougins, has been a major contributor to the success of this year s second edition of Les Etoiles de Mougins. <br><br> <embed src="http://www.chic.tv/swf/chic_tv_media_player.swf?h=5B9A64D0" bgcolor="#ffffff" allowscriptaccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" width="420" height="261"></embed><p class="SmallText">Chic TV - Mougins at FIG & OLIVE</p> <br><br> The city of Mougins came to New York last night and personally thanked Laurent and his Executive Chef, Pascal Lorange, for their contribution and for hosting the Gala Dinner at FIG & OLIVE to present and celebrate LES ETOILES DE MOUGINS latest edition (September 17th, 2007) and its Michelin Chefs from the French Riviera, and invite US Chefs and media to participate in next year s edition which is confirmed for September 12-15, 2008. Anthony Torkington, President of the Tourism Board of Mougins spoke about the last Les Etoiles de Mougins, recently held in September. There, over 100 Chefs from all over the world, came to this gastronomic village for a memorable three day event. Some of the finest Chefs in the world conducted cooking demonstrations, interacted with aspiring young Chefs, participated in tasting juries and exchanged visions of the culinary world. <br><br> <br><br> <img src="http://www.figandolive.com/mougins/imagesite/3071015FigOlive-000055.jpg"> <img src="http://www.figandolive.com/mougins/imagesite/Alain-Llorca-Dish2222.jpg"><br><p class="SmallText">Alain Llorca's Wild Striped Bass with Grilled Eggplant and Floral Essence Jus</p> This wonderful friendship brought three legendary Michelin Chefs from the French Riviera to New York to prepare an outstanding five course dinner this past week. Chef Alain Llorca, at the helm of the kitchen of the legendary Moulin de Mougins, with two Michelin stars, prepared his signature fish dish, a Wild Striped Bass with Grilled Eggplant and Floral Essence Jus. Chef Serge Gouloumès, of Mougins Le Mas Candille restaurant and hotel, with one Michelin star, prepared a Roasted Lobster Tail with Osetra Caviar, Taggiasca Olives and a Tomato Rosemary Emulsion. Philippe Labbe, Chef of the famous La Chevre d Or, with two Michelin stars in the charming village overlooking Monaco and Monte Carlo, also participated with his Sous Chef, Eric Rabazzani. They executed Eric s winning dish, a Saddle of Lamb with Porcini Mushrooms, Petit Farcis Provencal and Jus de Garrigue, and the dessert, a Fiadone Mousse of Broccui with a Limoncello Verrine and an emulsion of Olive Oil and Lemon. Eric won the Rising Star Chef Competition last September at the gastronomic festival in Mougins. FIG & OLIVE s Chef, Pascal Lorange, executed the first dish, an Heirloom Carrot Soup & Tomato Concassé with Wild Bay Scallops marinated in Lemon, Olive Oil and aged Balsamic Vinegar. Altogether, these five chefs prepared an outstanding gala dinner of the  Cuisine of the Sun for 200 guests to enjoy. <br><br> <img src="http://www.figandolive.com/mougins/imagesite/4071015FigOlive-000087.jpg"><br><p class="SmallText">Saddle of Lamb with Porcini Mushrooms, Petit Farcis Provencal and Jus de Garrigue</p> <br><br> At the closing of the dinner, a Krug Champagne toast was given to Eric Rabazzani by the Chefs and FIG & OLIVE s founder to wish him continuing success.
